Inspire and be Inspired

It is truly my delight having been given the opportunity to guide many students to a place of personal discovery and joy. They have become my motivation and inspiration.

Inspiration

When I said I was going for my riding lesson the other day, someone asked me, ”Don’t you know how to ride yet?” What a loaded question. Sure I can stay on my horse, but what I found from taking lessons from Jen Gruber was inspiration, encouragement, and insight to interact with my horse with poise and skill.

I am an older rider with a very smart, athletic, and opinionated mare and I had become fearful and lacked confidence. I needed help. Jen has helped me establish a trusting relationship with my horse where we get to be partners. My mare has learned she can trust me and I am learning to be trustworthy.

My days of constant discouragement are gone. I love to go to the barn and play with my horse. I now have the confidence to use the tools Jen has given me to meet whatever horse my mare presents that day. I am no longer fearful. I’m loving the journey of having my horse dreams come true with the help of my friend and trainer Jen Gruber. She inspires me!

Changed My Life

Jenny has changed my life and my relationship with my horses. She works from the inside out and takes the resistance out of the rider to bring relaxation to the horse. She helps remove the layers that hinder. To quote a Zen proverb: "The obstacle is the path". It has been a fabulous journey of enlightenment and I look forward to each session to remove another layer to become a better partner to my horses as well as a better person in life. I have an enormous amount of gratitude and love for Jenny and her training. Trust her, it works!

14 and Inspired

My 14 year-old daughter has been training with Jen for about a year. Jen began the first lesson for my daughter, asking her to stand by her horse, groom the horse and “breathe with the horse”. The goal was for the horse and girl to start to get comfortable with each other. Jen helped my daughter find a great fit in a horse to lease. Lessons are a highlight of the week and my daughter has learned so much—technical skills and about the mind/body/spirit connection with a horse. Jen’s personality is warm, spirited and fun. Safety is always the first priority. Jen has been very accommodating in terms of doing her best to juggle her schedule to make a lesson possible, if our schedule changed. We love Jen and feel fortunate to have her as a teacher!

Jen Gruber has the unique ability to integrate the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual components of riding and learning into a teaching experience tailored specifically for each individual student. She is well studied in many of the leading clinicians of our time, and is therefore able to draw from a wide spectrum of knowledge for the purpose of fulfilling, not her own agenda, but that defined and desired by her students. She is smart, fun, kind, and honest; you will not find an instructor with bigger heart, integrity, and joy in her work. The support and instruction I have received from Jenny in less than a year of lessons has surpassed my hopes for what I would be doing with my horses in this much time, and resulted in a joyful friendship.
